I’m Clare
BA (Hons) DipION mBANT rCNHC
I’m a Registered Nutritional Therapist and Nutritionist, member of the British Association of Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (mBANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (rCNHC).
As a self-confessed foodie, I believe one of life’s principal joys is eating good food, very closely followed by the satisfaction you get from creating a delicious meal for yourself and the people you love. Preparing and sharing food is a wonderful way to connect with friends, family and your community. I also believe that connecting with where your food comes from, and becoming a part of a community with shared goals, can positively impact your physical and mental health and wellbeing. Connecting with organic growers and farmers locally, who respect and retain greater environmental diversity, yielding higher welfare, sustainable and seasonal produce, is healthier for you, your community and, most importantly, our planet.
While studying for my BA (Hons) in International Development, at the University of East Anglia, I volunteered as a teacher with El Nahual, a non-profit NGO in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. Whilst there, I discovered I loved working with children and young adults, and this led me into a career in support work within the education sector. Now I am an experienced and passionate coach and mentor, having extensive professional experience working with both individuals and groups to facilitate learning, engagement and empowerment.
In 2017 I decided to combine my passion for coaching and mentoring with my love of good food. I began studying Nutritional Therapy at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition, London. Since graduating I have been practicing privately and continue to develop my knowledge with regular research and professional training. In addition to loving the work I do, Nutritional Therapy has enabled me to feel at my best and get on top of my own health concerns which tended to be mostly hormone related. I am now pregnant for the first time and am delighted to feel in such a strong position, to care for myself, throughout and post pregnancy, and for my baby too.
I feel so lucky that my work is something that means so much to me and privileged to be able to share my two passions in life…
